Celebrating Getting to…

Happy Birthday Getting to series

A big Happy Birthday to the Getting to…series!

All this month we will be celebrating the series, meeting the people who created the books and exploring the repertoire.

And yes, there will be cake!

The Getting to…series, brain child of Elissa Milne, was initially designed to answer the question: When are my students ready to move from the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library method book to exam material?

Of course in the 10 years since the series began it has become a staple teaching resource for thousands of teachers across Australia and New Zealand, regardless of which method they choose and for which examination system they are preparing their students.

Carefully crafted to address all examination criteria, students are encouraged to learn all 30 (or so) pieces in each volume. By the time students reach the end of each publication they have collected and really secured every technical skill required at a specific exam level. Exams can be taken confidently and students have a plethora of exam material and extra lists to choose from.
